Explore Triangles in Your Asana

I prefer a shorter stance for utthita trikonasana (triangle pose) than warrior 2, about a leg distance. In Ashtanga, we hold the big toe with yoga toe grip but I prefer to be up higher, just resting my hand on my shin as I extend in all four directions. Try this the next time you are in this asana:
Become aware of your feet on the mat. The connection with the Earth. Perhaps imagine the base of a triangle as the imaginary line between your feet. Your legs create the sides of the triangle and they meet at the base of your pelvis. Feel the ground beneath you, your strength and stability.
Now bring your attention to other triangles with the body. Perhaps one between your lower torso, front leg and lower arm. Or one created with an imaginary line between your top fingers and top hip bone? Where do you see and experience triangles in this pose?
